About Puddle Jumpers

Katie Heiser
Early Childhood Educator & Nanny Consultant
Katie Heiser's journey into nanny staffing stemmed from her deep research and realization of a gap in the market: a lack of agencies prioritizing nanny education, high quality developmentally appropriate practices, and nature-based approaches in the Seattle area. Motivated by her extensive background in early childhood education, including roles as a nature-based preschool teacher and program supervisor, Katie saw the opportunity to elevate standards within the industry.

Her academic achievements—an AA in Early Childhood Education focusing on children with exceptionalities and a BA emphasizing trauma studies—underscore her commitment to specialized care. Katie's dedication extends beyond simply matching nannies with families; she strives to provide ongoing professional development and support for her recruits and families.

Recognizing the isolation often felt by nannies, Katie aims to foster a community where professional growth, camaraderie, and friendship thrive. She envisions transforming the nanny staffing field by promoting collaborative learning and a supportive network among nannies. Katie's passion lies in creating a high-quality experience that enriches not only the lives of the families served but also the careers and well-being of the nannies she represents.
My Philosophy
Katie Heiser's philosophy in early childhood education and nanny staffing is rooted in extensive research and hands-on experience. She values the latest research in the field and ensures all nannies at Puddle Jumpers are trained to deliver high-quality, research-backed care and education.

Katie's passion lies in nature-based and play-based education, qualities she seeks in nannies who share her commitment to exceptional care and outdoor activities. She personally selects nannies who uphold developmentally appropriate practices and values, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and open, honest communication.

As a consultant, Katie mentors nannies to stay current with research and best practices, covering everything from curriculum development to gentle parenting techniques, ages and stages, and so much more. Her goal is to empower nannies to excel in their careers and provide the best possible care.

For families, Katie goes beyond matching nannies—she invests time getting to know each family's unique needs through in-depth consultations. Her approach alleviates stress by ensuring a perfect fit, making Puddle Jumpers a comprehensive resource for all family needs.

Katie Heiser is more than a staffing agency owner; she deeply cares about the well-being of her families, nannies, and the field of early childhood education. Her philosophy revolves around excellence, empathy, and a commitment to transforming childcare into a positive, enriching experience for everyone involved, while fostering a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and transparent communication.
